Most Dashcam Pro data is created and stored locally on your phone: video clips, recording metadata, settings, thumbnails, and optional location samples used for overlays.

Information Dashcam Pro Handles

Dashcam Pro may handle the following information when you use the app, depending on the features and permissions you choose:

• Video recordings captured by your device camera.
• Audio in recordings, only if you enable audio recording and grant microphone permission.
• Approximate or precise location data, only if you grant location permission and enable location-based overlays.
• Speed, GPS coordinates, timestamp, and address overlay data when those overlays are enabled.
• Recording metadata, such as clip duration, file size, created time, and local MediaStore references.
• App settings, such as clip duration, storage limit, video quality, low-light mode, selected overlays, and speed unit.
• Crash and diagnostic information through Firebase Crashlytics, and basic usage analytics through Firebase Analytics.

Video, Audio, And Location Data

Dashcam Pro saves recordings to your device storage, under the Android MediaStore location for Dashcam Pro videos. The app also keeps local metadata in its on-device database so it can show your clips, generate thumbnails, and delete old recordings when your configured storage limit is reached.

We do not upload your dashcam videos, audio tracks, clip metadata, or location samples to our own servers. You control any sharing or backup that happens outside the app, such as through Android, your gallery app, cloud backup tools, or other apps installed on your phone.

Permissions

Dashcam Pro asks for permissions only when they support app features:

• Camera: required to preview and record road video.
• Microphone: optional, used only when audio recording is enabled.
• Location: optional, used for speed, GPS coordinates, address, and location-based overlays during active recording.
• Notifications: optional on supported Android versions, used to show foreground-service recording status.
• Foreground service permissions: used so recording can continue during a user-started recording session.
• Internet: used for Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics diagnostics.
• Wake lock: helps active recording avoid sleeping in the middle of a session.

Dashcam Pro does not request background-location permission. Location is used only during a user-started foreground recording session when location overlays are active.

Firebase Crashlytics And Analytics

Dashcam Pro uses Firebase Crashlytics to understand crashes and app stability issues, and Firebase Analytics for basic app usage diagnostics. These services may collect device and app information such as device model, Android version, app version, crash traces, diagnostic identifiers, and event information.

How We Use Information

We use information handled by Dashcam Pro to provide the app's core recording features, display overlays, manage local storage, restore recording state, improve reliability, diagnose crashes, and respond to support requests.

Storage And Deletion

Recordings remain on your device unless you delete them, another app removes them, Android storage behavior affects them, or Dashcam Pro deletes the oldest clips to stay under the storage limit you configured. When you delete a clip in Dashcam Pro, the app removes the MediaStore item and then removes the related local database row.

You can also remove Dashcam Pro's local app data through Android system settings or uninstall the app.

Third Parties

Dashcam Pro uses Google Firebase services for crash reporting and analytics. The app may also open recordings through video player apps installed on your device when you choose to play a clip. Those apps and services are governed by their own privacy practices.

Children

Dashcam Pro is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy as Dashcam Pro changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
