Go Trippin is a group trip planner developed and published by GoLocal Software Labs. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

• Account: your name, email address and profile photo from Google or Apple sign-in, your home currency and, if you add it, your UPI ID for settle-ups.
• Trips you create or join: trip names and dates, day plans, places you save and their map locations, votes, notes, tickets and booking details you add (including files you upload), and expenses and settle-ups.
• AI requests: the trip brief you write (destination, dates, who’s going, preferences, notes, where you’re staying) or itinerary text you paste, so the AI can draft a plan.
• Purchases: if you buy Go Trippin Pro, your subscription status. Payment details are handled by Google Play; we never see your card.
• Technical data: basic logs our service providers keep to run the service, such as request times and errors.

The app does not access your device location, contacts, SMS or call logs. Photos are read only when you choose one, for a profile picture or trip cover.

2. How We Use It

• To run the app: show your trips to you and the people you share them with, keep them in sync, and save your settings.
• To draft itineraries with AI, find places on the map and show place photos.
• To provide Pro features and apply free-plan limits.
• To keep the service secure and fix problems.

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your data for advertising.

3. Who Can See Your Data

Your trips are visible only to the people on them. If you publish an itinerary, it is visible to everyone in the app; published itineraries never include tickets, booking references or exact expenses, and include travellers’ names only if you choose.

4. Service Providers

We share only what each provider needs to do its job:

• Supabase — database, sign-in and file storage.
• Google and Apple — sign-in. Google Maps — the map in the app.
• An AI model provider — receives your trip brief or pasted itinerary to write the draft, without your name or email.
• OpenStreetMap (Photon) — receives place names you search. Wikipedia / Wikimedia — receives place names and coordinates to find photos.
• RevenueCat and Google Play — subscriptions and purchases.
• Frankfurter — currency exchange rates; no personal data.

Opening a place in Google Maps or Apple Maps hands you over to that app, under its own privacy policy.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, the trips you own, your uploaded files and published itineraries within 30 days. Trips you joined but didn’t create stay with their owner, without your name. See Delete your account.

6. Your Rights

You can view and edit your profile and trips in the app at any time. To request a copy of your data, a correction or deletion, email us. Depending on where you live, for example under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act or the EU GDPR, you may have further rights, which we will honour.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access rules on the database ensure people only see trips they belong to. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. Children’s Privacy

Go Trippin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The updated version will be published here with a revised effective date, and material changes will be shown in the app.
